Terms & Conditions
Originality & Ownership
Submitted works must be original creations by the entrant.
By submitting a work, the artist confirms that:
- they are the creator of the submitted work
- they own or control the rights necessary to submit and exhibit the work
- the work does not knowingly infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights of any third party
- they have obtained all necessary permissions for any third-party material included in the work
Use of AI
The use of AI is permitted at any stage of the Open Call. However, the jury will evaluate each submission based on its originality, creativity, and artistic intent. The use of AI alone will not be considered innovative, and works that rely heavily on generic or unmodified AI-generated outputs may receive a lower evaluation.
Previously published works are eligible, provided that the artist owns the necessary rights and the work complies with all other competition rules.
Third-Party Content & Copyright
Artists are responsible for obtaining all necessary licenses and permissions for third-party materials used in their work.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Music
- Sound effects
- Photography
- Video footage
- Stock assets
- 3D models
- Fonts
- Textures
- Logos
- Characters
- AI-generated or AI-assisted content involving third-party rights
SODA is not responsible for copyright or licensing disputes arising from materials included in a submitted work.
Judging & Confidentiality
Submission to SODA is not confidential.
By submitting a work, the artist confirms that:
- Entrants understand their work will be reviewed by independent judges.
- Judges may be employed by companies working in similar creative industries.
- Reviewing a submission does not create any relationship between the entrant and a judge or the judge's employer.
- Entrants cannot make a claim against judges or their employers solely because of similarities between their submission and independently developed work.
- Judges and their employers receive no ownership or rights to use the submitted artwork merely by reviewing it.
Copyright & Usage Rights
Artists retain full ownership and copyright of their submitted works.
By entering the competition, artists grant SODA a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to reproduce, display and communicate selected works solely for the purposes of:
SODA will always credit the artist whenever reasonably possible.
SODA will not sell, license or commercially exploit submitted works.
The artist’s ownership and copyright remain unaffected by participation in the competition.

- SODA's communication and promotion
- social media
- website publication
- press coverage
- exhibition documentation
- event recap videos
- archival purposes
- promotion of future editions of SODA and the exhibition.
Photography, Video & Exhibition Documentation
The exhibition may be photographed and filmed for documentation, press and promotional purposes.
By participating, selected artists acknowledge that their work may appear in photographs, videos, social media content, press materials and other documentation related to the exhibition.
Artists will retain ownership of their work.
Changes to the Exhibition
SODA reserves the right to modify dates, exhibition arrangements, technical requirements or other aspects of the competition when reasonably necessary due to circumstances beyond its control.
In the event of significant changes, SODA will communicate them through its official channels and, where appropriate, directly to affected participants or selected artists.
Privacy & Data Protection
Personal information collected through the submission forms will be processed by SODA for the purposes of administering the competition, communicating with participants, evaluating submissions and managing the exhibition.
Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
Final Terms
Submission of a work constitutes acceptance of these competition rules.
By submitting an entry, participants confirm that they have read and accepted the terms outlined above.
SODA reserves the right to interpret and apply these rules where necessary to ensure the fair and consistent administration of the competition.
